Gimbal Goats provides character and prop rigging, rigging tools/pipeline support, and staffing for studios in VFX, animation, and games. You can work with us as a vendor (we deliver scoped rigging packages) or via staffing (we embed a rigger/TD into your team).
We build character, creature, prop, and mechanical rigs, including IK/FK body systems, animator friendly controls, facial rigs (blendshape, joint-based, or hybrid), and deformation support (skinning workflows, correctives where needed). We are not bound to a single rigging system. We stay flexible and use what is right for the job. If you have a preferred rigging system or studio standard, we follow it. We have worked with many different systems and can also use our internal rigging framework when it fits the project.
Our primary platform is Autodesk Maya, and we also support Blender when required. We mainly work in VFX and CG animation pipelines, delivering rigs that integrate cleanly with your studio’s workflow and publishing standards. When projects require game engine delivery, we can provide rigs and exports compatible with Unreal Engine and Unity through typical FBX workflows, and support Unreal Control Rig and MetaHuman compatible workflows when needed.
Staffing means we embed a rigger/TD into your team (your pipeline, your leads, your schedule).
‍Vendor work means we deliver a defined scope (e.g., “rig these characters”) with clear milestones and handoff.
(Some studios refer to vendor work as outsourcing, we’re happy to work under either model.)
We keep it simple. Kickoff and requirements, then a first pass rig, followed by review iterations, and finally delivery with organized files and handoff support.

We do regular check ins and align with your reviews and publishing standards. When needed, we can bring in extra rigging or pipeline support from our team. We work at your pace like an in team rigging TD.
